Innate passion and commitment for devotional music, gave composer-singer Sohil Bloch, paramount success.

Creating soulful and divine music is a complex art, which requires innate passion and commitment along with listeners connecting to it. The love for music drove a successful musical journey for a Ghazal, Sufi, Folk singer, who soared to the top of the industry with his melodious voice and soulful compositions, he is Sohil Bloch. Sohil Bloch hails from a village called Kalawad Shitala, near Rajkot, Gujarat, and emerged as a supreme name from the Gujarat Sugam Sangeet industry. 



Being an ardent lover of Sufi and devotional music since his childhood, Sohil was intrigued by the power of music and the impact it has on human lives. Being motivated by his father (Kamalbhai) Yusuf Bloch and sister Tasleem Bloch, he pursued his career by attaining a Master in Performing Arts (MPA) from Hirani Performing Arts College. Sohil won several singing competitions and organically honed his talent. Despite being born and raised in a Muslim family, he is now a renowned name in composing and singing devotional songs for Hindu Gods and Goddesses. He broke the boundaries and collaborated with ace tabla master Wajid Ali Khan of Pakistan, via Facebook. His collaboration brought the people of these two nations together, providing exquisite compositions. 


Sohil also worked with Bollywood singing stalwarts and legends Usha Mangeshkar and Anuradha Paudwal. He composed a devotional song for Ashapura Mataji called “Koi Kuch Kahe Ashapura se Mann Laga” with Lata Mangeshkar's sister, Usha Mangeshkar. He even had the pleasure to record the song at the famous Lata Mangeshkar studio. 

His passion and dedication to his art resulted in him getting a soulful connection with the listeners, compounding to his growth. He brought together 21 accomplished Gujarati singers, including Osman Meer, Hemant Chauhan, Kirtidan Gadhvi, and Lalita Gadadara, for re-composing St. Narsinh Mehta’s classic bhajan “Vaishnav Jan To”. Sohil has also been singing bhajans for the Swadhyay Parivar and also working with Nidhi Dholakia for a Lord Ganesha bhajan. His soulful connection with the listeners has led to him composing more than 20 devotional and Sufi albums. 

Sohil now works as a music teacher in SNK School, Rajkot, along with exploring more facets of music. He works on enhancing his art and passion for bhajans and devotional music. He has also worked with the Akila
