India In The 6th Number Of Designation For Places On The Earth, And Maharastra With 5th Number.

The Dolavira and Ramapa Temples in Telangana have been declared a World Heritage Site. This has increased the number of World Heritage Sites in India to 40. India is now sixth in the world and only after China in Asia. When it comes to India, Maharashtra alone has five more world heritage sites than Gujarat.


In second place is Gujarat along with Rajasthan, where there are 4-4 World Heritage Sites. According to information received, India took part in the UNESCO Convention in 1883. In the same year, Anjata-Ellora Cave, Agra Fort, and Taj Mahal were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.




Since then, various Indian cultural and natural sites have been added to this list from time to time. European countries dominate world heritage sites. Four of the first five countries came from Europe. With two locations in India, the number of World Heritage Sites has increased to 40. This makes India the sixth worldwide on this list. There are 1120 World Heritage Sites worldwide.


Of these, 96 are in Africa, 86 in 86 Arab countries, 268 in the Asia-Pacific region, 528 in Europe-North America, and 141 in Latin America and the Caribbean. Of the World Heritage Sites, 668 are cultural heritage, 213 are natural, and 39 are mixed. Out of 40 places in India, 32 are cultural places, and 7 are wild places when there is a hybrid place.


The highest in India was 5 in Maharashtra, 4-4 in Gujarat and Rajasthan, 2-2 in Assam, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal, and Sikkim, 3-3 in Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh during Chandigarh, Goa, Kerala, Orissa, Telangana, Uttarakhand have 1-1 World Heritage Sites.
