India crosses 2.5 lakh Covid-19 cases mark as Unlock phase one begins.
India on a fifth consecutive day registered more than
9000 Covid-19 infections and witnessed its biggest single-day spike
after reporting fresh 9983 cases on Sunday, taking the nation’s Coronavirus
tally to 256,611, the death toll climbed up to 7135 as per the Union Health Ministry.
The number of active cases stood at 125,381, while 124,094 patients have
recovered from the fatal virus, improving the recovery rate to 48.36 per cent.
Maharashtra overtakes China:
Maharashtra’s tally rose to 85,975 infections which meant that it has
now overtaken China’s Covid-19 tally of 84,191. Maharashtra is the worst
affected Indian state. Mumbai’s tally rose to 48,744 cases on Sunday as it
became the worst affected Indian city. Although this didn’t stop people who
resumed going to work as part of the state’s “Mission Begin Again “campaign
where several private offices reopened with 10 percent strength. The usual heavy
traffic jam was observed on the Western Express Highway on Monday morning.

New Zealand is now Covid-19 free:
After the last known infected person in New Zealand recovered, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern on Monday declared that she was confident that her nation is now Covid-19 free and it has halted the spread of Coronavirus as it has been 17 days since the last case was reported.
Unlock phase one begins:

Unlock 1.0 strategy. The centre has given the dos and don’ts guidelines to the states so as to resume operations safely.
Arvind Kejriwal to undergo Covid-19 test:
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has developed mild fever and sore throat and has self-isolated himself said an AAP spokesperson. He also added that Kejriwal will most likely undergo a Covid-19 test tomorrow.
