In Stirring Tribute to Mom Naomi Judd, Wynonna announced that the tour would continue

Family, friends, and fans filled the Ryman Nashville Auditorium to celebrate the life and career of the matriarch.

Friends, fans, and family members thronged the benches in Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on Sunday night to mourn and celebrate the life of Naomi Judd. For 75 minutes on national television a series of some of the best country music still lifts hearts have trembled since matriarch Judd's death on March 30.

But Naomi's daughter and her singing partner, Winona Judd, had the most encouraging message to deliver when she announced on stage that she intended to honor the fall dates the duo had planned for their latest tour.

"I decided and decided to share it on national television that after much thought, I should honor him and go on this tour," Winona said, tears running down her cheeks. "The show has to keep going, no matter how hard it gets, and we're going to be performing together, and you're going to carry me as you carried me for 38 years... on this show." That's what he wants, isn't it?"

Her message on stage - which was met with rapturous applause and applause - came at the end of what Winona described as "so beautiful." The show not only takes listeners through many of The Judds' most timeless classics but also dives into other music that touches the hearts of these two women.

Wynonna's sister, actress Ashley Judd, opened the evening with a welcome at the Holy Mother of Country Music Church, stating, "This is where Mama wants her public party to be."

Ashley, 54, described her mother as "every woman." Maybe that's why everyone felt they knew him." However, he added, "He was incredible: five-time Grammy winner, multi-platinum performer, Hall of Famer recognized by millions."

Naomi and Winona were established into the Country Music Hall of Fame just two blocks from Ryman on May 1, just a day after Naomi, who suffered from severe depression, died alone.
