In Puerto Rico, Ricky Martin is subject to a restraining order

Key Takeaways:

Police said on Saturday that Ricky Martin, the famous Puerto Rican singer, is now covered by a restraining order.

Following the order's signing on Friday, authorities attempted to deliver it. They went to the singer's home in a posh neighborhood of the north coastal town of Dorado, according to police spokeswoman Axel Valencia.

Police haven't been capable of locating him yet, Valencia added.

Martin's publicist did not immediately respond to a note asking for the response.

It was not instantly known who requested the restraining order. Valencia claimed he couldn't provide further details because Puerto Rico's domestic violence law made the order.

According to the order, Martin and the other party dated for seven months, according to El Vocero, a newspaper in Puerto Rico. According to the report, they split up two months ago, but the petitioner claims Martin did not accept the split and has been spotted at least three times loitering close to the petitioner's home.

El Vocero cited the order as saying, "The petitioner worries for his safety."

AP has not received a copy of the order.

Valencia explained that the order prevents Martin from speaking with or calling the individual who filed it and that a judge would ultimately decide whether to uphold or lift the order at a hearing. Such directives, he continued, are frequently carried out for at least a month.

Valencia noted that the person who obtained the restraining order did not call the police, which would have necessitated the prosecution to determine if there was enough evidence to file charges. Instead, the request was delivered straight to the court.
