'I can't please you,' Johnny Depp tells Amber Heard's lawyer

Key Takeaways:

In his defamation case towards ex-wife Amber Heard, actor Johnny Depp returned to the witness stand this week. Johnny had previously testified in the trial and was now being cross-examined by Amber's legal team.

As the defense interrogated him on his testimony on Wednesday, the star got into a verbal spat with Amber's lawyer. When asked to offer a clear yes or no answer, Johnny informed the lawyer that he couldn't 'please' him.

Johnny can be spotted on the witness stand being questioned by Amber's legal team in a video from the trial, which is now taking place in a Virginia court. According to the lawyer, Johnny was "quite enraged" after Amber was granted a temporary restraining order. "Angry!" Johnny exclaimed with a smirk.

I was hurt more than anything." The lawyer also questioned him about his earlier evidence, in which he discussed his role in assisting Amber in landing a role in the 2018 blockbuster Aquaman.

"You testified earlier this morning that you were somehow responsible for her landing a role with Warner Bros," the lawyer stated. After the interim restraining order, you also tried to get her fired from Aquaman. "Didn't you?" says the narrator.

"One question, sir," the lawyer stated when Johnny inquired which question he wanted to be addressed first. You attempted to get her dismissed from Aquaman following the temporary restraining order. "Didn't you?" says the narrator.

"What is related to me about the story getting her...," Johnny began, but the lawyer interrupted and said it was a simple yes or no question. "It's not always a yes or no situation," Johnny continued. "I can't gratify you every time with a yes or no," she says. "Answer's no!" As the lawyer continued to press the point, Johnny said that it was a yes-or-no question.

Johnny has pointed a defamation suit against Amber for her claims in a 2018 Washington Post piece that she was a victim of domestic abuse. He sued her for $50 million, but she countersued for $100 million, claiming that he slandered her reputation by labeling her a liar. Since April, the trial has reached and will end on May 27.
