History sheeter Vikas Dudey fired on police team, 8 police personnel including DSP killed, 3 thugs also shot dead.

The miscreants opened fire indiscriminately on a police team that went to a hospital in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, at 1 pm on Thursday.  Eight policemen, including a Circle Officer (DSP) and three sub-inspectors, were killed.  It is said that the police had gone to a village in the Chaubepur police station area to nab history-sheeter Vikas Dubey, but his gang attacked the police from the roof and Vikas Dubey fled.  The thugs also looted several police weapons.  Police, on the other hand, said that 3 colleagues of Vikas Dubey were killed in the encounter after the incident.

This team of police has started arresting historian Vikas Dubey.  The SSP and IG have reached the spot after receiving the news.  The forensic team is also investigating here. The DGP said that the thugs had blocked the road by installing JCBs etc.to stop the police from going to catch the criminals. As soon as the police party arrived, a police team was fired upon from the threshold in which 8 police personnel were martyred. 

This includes one Deputy SP Devendra Mishra, 3 sub-inspectors.  Among the martyrs are one SO and 4 constables.  These thugs have been martyred in the firing.  ADG Law & Order is arriving at the scene.  SSP and IG are at the scene.  Kanpur's forensic team is investigating.  A team from Lucknow is also conducting forensics.  STF has been applied.
