Helicopter crash: 48 hours crucial for the only surviving officer group Captain Varun Singh
The only Army officer who survived a helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu and Air Force Group Captain Varun Singh is critical.
Varun Singh's uncle Akhilesh Pratap Singh said that doctors performed surgery on Varun Singh on Wednesday night. After that, he was shifted to the ICU ward. Doctors say that the next 48 hours are critical. He is currently undergoing treatment at Wellington Army Hospital.
Interestingly, Group Captain Varun Singh was honored with the Heroic Chakra this year on Independence Day. In 2020, he was flying a Tejas fighter jet, and his aircraft malfunctioned. Hence, he was given the Chakra of Heroism.
Group Captain Varun Singh is the father of two children. An Air Force helicopter crash died 13 people, including CDC General Rawat, and seriously injured Varun Singh was rushed to a hospital.
