Gunjan Saxena to release on Netflix, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl directed by Sharan Sharma, starring Janhvi Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi and Angad Bedi will release straight on Netflix, the online streaming giant made the announcement on Tuesday.
Biopic on Indian Air Force Pilot Gunjan Saxena:
The film is a biopic of Gunjan Saxena who with Srividya Rajan, became the first Indian women fighter pilots to engage in a war zone. Gunjan was honoured with the Shaurya Vir Award for displaying courage and grit during the Kargil War in 1999, where she rescued soldiers in the 1999 war. The film stars Janhvi Kapoor in the title role also features Pankaj Tripathi as her father and Angad Bedi as her brother.

The film is jointly produced by Dharma Productions and Zee Studios.

The film was slated to release in cinemas on 24th of April 2020, but owing to the nation-wide lockdown because of novel Covid-19 virus pandemic and also with the question of when will the cinemas be able to function, the makers decided to release the film digitally.

A sixth consecutive day with over 9000 coronavirus cases:  



India reported 9987 fresh Coronavirus infections, taking the nation’s Covid-19 tally to 266,598. Around 129,214 patients have recovered from the fatal virus and the active number of cases stands at 129,917, but the cases in India for a fact, are escalating fast. This is the sixth consecutive day when over 9000 cases were registered on a single day. The death toll climbed to 7466. Many states have started showing a surge in a daily number of cases as the country has relaxed major restrictions and Unlock 1.0 has begun.
Globally, the cases have breached the seven million mark with 401,000 plus deaths.
