Four terrorists executed in an encounter in Shopian.

On Monday, in an encounter with India’s security forces, four terrorists were killed in Pinjora area of the Shopian district said the J&K Police.

Security forces launched an operation post a tip-off in Pinjora area:
A police official said that this morning they got a tip-off about the presence of terrorists in the South Kashmir district. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Shopian’s Pinjora area, after they received specific information about the terrorists’ location.

Police officials said it turned into an encounter:
The police official further said that after the cordoning off, the search operation turned into an encounter after the terrorists started shooting upon a search party of the security forces, who had to retaliate Two task force members were also injured in the encounter. As part of a new policy in the valley, to prevent young boys from joining terror groups, the police decided to not reveal the identity of the executed terrorists or the group, they were affiliated with. Although sources said they belonged to Hizbul Mujahideen.

Second Encounter in Shopian:
This is the second encounter in Shopian by the security forces in the last 24 hours. On Sunday, in the Reban area of Shopian district, five Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists, including a self-styled commander, were annihilated in the gun-battle with the security forces. 

This takes a total of 9 terrorists being executed by the security forces in the last 24 hours and the police official also said that such operations will continue in Jammu & Kashmir.
