Fans have found a possible link among Doctor Strange 2 and the Eternals

Key Takeaways:

In the forthcoming film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer, Marvel fans claim to have discovered a new Easter egg. Although the film has connections to the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, primarily WandaVision and Loki, eagle-eyed fans have discovered that the film's most recent TV spot also has a connection to another Marvel picture Eternals, which came out last year.

Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda warns Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange not to break the Multiverse in one of the most recent TV advertisements for the film, aired in the United States and Europe. Fans have noticed that the wall in front of which Wanda stands in this picture has a circular pattern theme that can be found throughout Eternals, most notably on Ikaris's clothing (Richard Madden).

Doctor Strange 2 picks up where Spider-Man: No Way Back left off. Because the film is about variants and the Multiverse, there's a chance that multiple performers will appear in cameo roles, either as variations of existing characters or reprising roles from other franchises.

Many people speculate that this suggests one or more of the Eternals will appear in the film. That is something that will have to wait and see. Others, though, believe the artwork is simply a homage to the Eternals and the film's use of a Marvel property. It's possible that it won't result in a cameo.

Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Kit Harington, and Salma Hayek starred in Eternals, directed by Chloe Zhao. Last year, it opened to mostly poor reviews and grossed slightly over $400 million at the box office.

In the Multiverse of Madness, Doctor Strange is expected to have several celebrity cameos, including Tom Cruise as a reimagining of Robert Downey, Jr.'s Iron Man. Other confirmed cameos include John Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic, Ryan Reynolds, Tobey Maguire, and Halle Berry as Deadpool, Spider-Man, and Storm. None of these, however, have been proven. Madness, a part of the MCU's Phase 4 and directed by Sam Raimi, will be released on May 6, 2022.
