Winter is associated with survival. When the temperature drops drastically, people tend to be lazy and adapt their diet to the weather and keep themselves warm and nourished.
Nutritionist Sapna Jaysingh Patel, founder of Health Before Wealth, says that eating high-fat foods can harm the body in the big run because these foods are heavy on the body and are never appropriately digested, causing stomach upset, bloating, or constipation.
"Also, such intake reduces the body's activity, makes it heavy, resulting in low energy. Since hot weather in summer usually drains energy from the body, it is essential to undergo a detoxification process in winter to get rid of excess food," she says.
According to Patel, it can benefit our bodies in various ways, including boosting our metabolism, boosting our immune system, promoting healthier skin also a clearer mind.
