European Union: Anti-immigrant, nationalist parties gain power in 13 countries


In 13 of the 27 countries of the European Union (EU), the issue of no-entry of immigrants into their own countries has come to the fore due to the dominance of nationalist parties. The issue of opposition to immigrants from Muslim countries has come up.


According to statistics, in the last 5 years, the vote share of nationalist parties in EU countries has increased by 55%. Hungary, Sweden and Italy are governed by nationalist parties. The nationalist parties of these countries are drawing inspiration from the nationalist heroes of their respective countries in the wake of World War II.


People here are becoming aware of their national identity. According to an EU report, the way nationalist parties are increasing their vote share suggests that these parties are unlikely to get a lead even in the supposedly developed countries of Western Europe. Nationalist governments can form here too.
