Eriksen nets as Brentford puts four past Chelsea

Key takeaways:

Brentford produced a superb show to record their first victory over Chelsea since 1939. They came from behind to shock Thomas Tuchel's team with three goals in 10 minutes in the second half before adding a fourth late to humiliate the Champions League holders.

The Bees enjoyed the better of the first half. Still, they were punished for not taking opportunities when Antonio Rudiger sparked a brilliant 30-yard finish beyond David Raya three minutes after the restart.

Brentford's reply was instant and stunning as Vitaly Janelt thrashed home the leveler two minutes before the golden point in the 54th minute as Bryan Mbeumo squared a pass for Eriksen to net in front of the positive visiting support.

And Brentford was not finished there, Janet breaking clear again on the hour to defeat Chelsea keeper Edouard Mendy before replacement Yoane Wissa completed their recognition day in the closing moments.

Brentford is now on 33 points, 11 clear of Watford, who are third from bottom and can now definitely consider Premier League football again next season.

Eriksen stars in a fine win

Eriksen delivered the story of this great Brentford victory with that first goal since making his comeback with the Bees after suffering a cardiac arrest playing for Denmark against Finland at Euro 2020 in June.

It was a fantastic moment but was just the trim on quite a brilliant teamwork from Brentford, who deserved one of the most significant wins in the club's past. The margin of the scoreline did not flatter them.
