"I have won a lot in life... but I win with Lindsay," the Modern Family alum said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show of fiancée Lindsay Schweitzer.

Eric Stonestreet is a comedian both on and off the screen!

The Modern Family alum revealed in an interview from his 20th appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which airs Tuesday that his fiancée Lindsay Schweitzer initially thought his proposal was a joke.

Stonestreet, 50, admitted to hosting Ellen DeGeneres that he had "a lot" of fun with her in the past and that she had been "very patient" with him.

The actor shared a proposal video, which featured a sweet set-up from Schweitzer's twin sons. In addition, Stonestreet stated that he informed his then-girlfriend that a production company was interested in collaborating on a social media post.

"So she could do her hair and look as beautiful as she wanted to look at the time," he explained. As the camera began to roll, the twins took turns telling their mother that Stonestreet had a question for her before he proposed. The proposal caught his fiancée off guard, and she can be heard in the video asking, "Is this all a joke?"

She eventually said, "Yes," and the couple embraced at the end of the video. During his interview with DeGeneres, the Kansas native expressed his appreciation for his romance with Schweitzer.

"You know, I've won a lot of things in life... but I win with Lindsay," he admitted. "She is a wonderful person, also I am grateful that we met five years ago."

Following his engagement to Schweitzer August, Stonestreet revealed what prompted him to get down on one knee after five years together.

"We have been jointly for a long time, also  I just knew I wasn't going to find a good partner in life than Lindsay," Stonestreet said of the National Pork Board's myth-busting pig farming campaign. "As a result, it just made the most sense. And I'd taken my sweet time with it."
