Entertainment: Chitrangada Singh reveals Casting Couch exists in Bollywood; admits she lost out on projects for not "giving in".
In 2018, the #Metoo movement started in Bollywood, where big names from the industry were called out by women for inappropriate behaviour and sexual misconduct. One and a half year later, actress Chitrangada Singh revealed not so shockingly (shockingly), in an interview, that Casting Couch is a reality in Bollywood. She claims to have seen this wretched thing right from her modelling days and stated in the interview that there are people like this everywhere.
Describing her personal experience, she revealed that casting couch has happened to her. However, she also says that Bollywood is an industry where no one forces you to do it, choices are provided to everyone, giving space and respect for the choices one makes. It does truly feel bad when one loses the opportunity, but well, it is, after all, a choice you made.
Yeh Saali Zindagi star Chitrangada said she wouldn't judge anyone who does casting couch, provided she feels comfortable with it. Singh says it felt bad as she has lost out on projects because of not succumbing to it. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Chitrangada, like many others, is self-quarantined at home, amidst the lockdown.
Chitrangada has started working out regularly during the lockdown as earlier she used to skip it. Before the lockdown, she used to work out only twice or thrice a week, but now she does stretching, yoga & other exercises daily.
Chitrangada will be next seen in the Abhishek Bachchan starrer, 'Bob Biswas'.
