Emilia Clarke says her Broadway debut at Breakfast at Tiffany's was a 'shattering failure.'
The Game of Thrones graduate will perform on the West End stage at Anton Chekhov's The Seagull, which runs from June 30 to September 10 at the Harold Pinter Theatre.
Emilia Clarke hopes her West End debut will be a little more fluid than her 2013 Broadway experience.
The 35-year-old Game of Thrones graduate made her Broadway debut nearly a decade ago in Breakfast at Tiffany's, drawing widespread criticism from critics. Seagull.
"[It was] a catastrophic failure," Clark said of his experience on Broadway. "He's just not ready. Am I ready? No, I'm not. I'm still a baby. I'm very young and inexperienced." However, that didn't stop the actress from returning to the theater pool.
"There is no higher art than theatre. I admire him. I love him," he told the publication. "I feel the happiest, safest, most comfortable at home."
While Clark is ready to show the theater world what he can bring to the stage, that doesn't mean he isn't worried about his performance. "I am well aware that there will be people who love Game of Thrones and will watch it because of it," he told the BBC. "It's ten times scarier because there will be people who want to go and say, 'Well, he can only act in front of the camera, he definitely can't act on stage,' which is the biggest fear."
