Eddie Nketiah agrees on a new five-year contract at Arsenal

Key takeaways:

The 23-year-old, due to be out of the agreement at the end of the month, has made 92 first-team appearances and netted 23 goals since his first-team debut in 2017.

He ended last season in fine form, creating Arsenal's last eight league matches and scoring five goals.

"I'm glad Eddie is staying with us," said boss Mikel Arteta.

"He describes what we are all regarding and the club's values.

"We are happy that he has extended his agreement, and now we have to work and continue growing the great talent and person we have in him."

The Londoner, who will sport the number 14 shirt next season, having worn number 30, kept his home debut with two goals against Norwich City in the Carabao Cup in 2017 and featured in the FA Cup and Community Shield-winning squads in 2020.

He is even the England Under-21s all-time top scorer with 16 goals in 17 appearances and headed the team that won the 2021 European Under-21 Championships.
