Dibley actor vicar Gary Waldhorn has died.
Actor Gary Waldhorn, best known for his role as a consultant to David Horton on the television sitcom The Vicar of Dibley, has died at 78. French Horn is one of the main characters in the hit comedy and plays the chairman of the parish council, who frequently clashes with the pastor of Down French.
Other TV shows include favorites from the 1980s and 90s like Brush Strokes, Lovejoy, and Gallowglass. Waldhorn also had a brilliant theater career, including the Royal Shakespeare Company.
He died on Monday, his son Josh said. Josh Waldhorn said in a statement: "Classically educated, the theater is truly thriving and leaving behind an exciting entertainment legacy to hit the boards on Broadway, West End, and our TV shows!
"He left behind his two grandchildren, Cooper and Bailey, and son Josh. We will all miss him very much."
A BBC Comedy statement added: "Gary is an incredibly talented actor who fondly remembers us with his many appearances on some of the BBC's most prized shows and of course as David Horton's advisor on The Vicar of Dibley.
