Daniel Fischel said he and Ben Savage went to the meeting to see any "feelings."

We went to dinner and said "No!" Daniel Fischel told Boy Meets World fans at Con 90s when asked if Corey-Topanga's real-life love story took place off-screen.

Daniel Fischel may have let Boy Meets World fans down at '90s-Con when he revealed a real romance with colleague Ben Savage that never materialized. When asked Saturday if he had been in a relationship with his popular adult sitcom partner in the 1990s, Fischel said, "No, we never dated." However, after dating childhood sweethearts Corey Matthews and Topanga for several years Lawrence, Fischel admits that he and Savage have tried.

"I think there was a moment where Ben and I would look at each other after we'd worked together for about two years and be like, 'Do you have feelings?'" he explained. "And then we went to eat and said 'No!' said." While there was no romantic spark between 40-year-old Fischel and 41-year-old Savage, the actors were still very close. Fischel even invited Savage to the school prom—and the night turned into a real teen sitcom.

"We have what they call a counter dance in our school. "They call it that because, in a very misogynistic way, girls have to ask guys out," she says. "So I had to ask someone, and I asked Ben if he would come with me, and he did. And that's one of my favorite stories." Fischel notes that Savage forgot his wallet and had no money with him, so when their evening ended with a bite at Denny's, they were almost stuck doing the dishes.

When asked about the Savage dance, Fischel clarified that it was not a ball; She had another famous date for that monumental teen moment. "I brought Lance Bass to my prom!" he said. Fischel joins fellow cast members Ryder Strong (Sean Hunter), Will Friedl (Eric Matthews), and Trina McGee (Angela Moore) for Saturday's '90s Con Boy Meets World panel.
