COVID-19 Vaccination Drive: Rs 500 Subsidy on Jabs for Jain Community Launched in Hyderabad.
Jain Community under On Thursday, Sri Jain Shwetamber Terapanthi Sabha initiated a COVID-19 vaccination drive for the city's Jain Community. A pension of Rs 500 is being given on rates fixed by the state government on vaccine doses.
This vaccination drive, which will proceed till June 15, was established on Thursday by Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar. The organizers of the drive have pursued the help of Apollo Hospitals for procurement of vaccines and allocating the punches to people.
As per Piyush Jain, Coordinator of the vaccination drive, the rates at which personal hospitals and other private healthcare providers can charge Rs 1,000 for Covishield and Rs 1400 for Covaxin, but, in this drive, vaccine are being administered at a subsidized price of Rs 500 for Covishield and Rs 900 for Covaxin.
"Under this vaccination drive, we are proposing vaccination duty to all the people from Jain Community." Stating that they obtained enrollments of approximately 2,000 people on the extremely initial day, Jain said they try to vaccinate even extra people. "We aim to provide vaccine opportunities to around 4,000 to 5,000 people."
He further asserted that the Terapanthi Sabha is offering a settlement of Rs 500 on every vaccine dose over the rate stabilized by the Goverment. He said that the drive would continue till June 15, and if at all there are furthermore enrollments coming in, then they will start the drive again.
Anjani Kumar, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, asserted, "Holding such vaccination drive will assist people in getting vaccinated in huge quantities. Therefore, I urge citizens to come ahead and support the poor and needy section of the society and give related facilities to them too."
Dileep Daga, Vice President of Sri Jain Shwetamber Terapanthi Sabha, said," The nicest aspect about the vaccination hustle is that we are giving a rebate of Rs 500 on each dose. We urge people of our community to appear in large numbers and receive the vaccination. This drive is amounting to us to around Rs 10 lakh, which our organization assumes. We also obtained donations for this drive. We will use those budgets to expand the drive and take it to other places as well."
