Coronavirus Mumbai: A woman commits suicide after testing positive for the virus at a Mumbai hospital.

The spike that Mumbai sees every day in the number of cases of COVID-19 that get registered & the number of lives it takes is so alarming that it has sent a shock wave across not just the city, but the entire country & Maharashtra remains the worst affected due to the pandemic in the whole of India. The fear of testing positive of the virus is so much that in many parts of the country people even attacked the health workers who had come to their areas for testing purposes.


A recent case was reported at Nair hospital, Mumbai, where out of alleged fear of the virus a woman killed herself. The deceased in question was a 29-year old woman who was tested positive for coronavirus & was admitted in the hospital in ward no. 25. And, on Wednesday at around 3.45 am with the help of her dupatta hanged herself in the washroom.




A police official from Agripada police station said that the woman was admitted on Monday at the Nair hospital & on Tuesday she was tested positive for the virus. The police officials said that the woman who was a resident of Worli also suffered from asthma. A senior doctor from Nair hospital suspected that the woman might have been a depression patient to take such an unfortunate step. Meanwhile, the Agripada Police has filed an accidental death case.


In other news, the current cases of COVID-19 in India, is closer to the mark of 12,000, out of which 1,343 have recovered. And, the death toll has reached 392. Maharashtra being the worst affected registers more than 2,800 cases & with 183 new cases in Mumbai, the total cases in the city reached 1,936.
