Coronavirus India Update: A total of 4,067 positive cases get registered, reporting 21 fresh deaths from Maharashtra.
The number of cases that are getting registered every day in most parts of the world is alarming due to the rapid spread of Coronavirus amounting to vast numbers of deaths as well. India too is facing the deadly times fighting against the virus & has been into lockdown for a few days. The numbers of deaths, however, are surging every day in the nation & new confirmed cases are emerging.
As of Monday, the total number of positive cases climbs to 4,067 in India & the death toll has also reached 109 till now where the country is already on the 13th day of its lockdown. Out of 4,067 cases, 1455 cases have been linked to the Tablighi Jamaat held at Delhi last month. Reports suggest the maximum numbers of deaths have taken place in Maharashtra. Other states like Punjab, Andhra Pradesh & Tamil Nadu also report new deaths. Many have questioned whether the lockdown would be extended after it ends on April 14 as announced earlier by the PM of India Narendra Modi. However, the curve doesn't seem to flatten at the moment & it appears that extended restrictions might be put after the current lockdown ends for some hotspots in the country. According to certain government sources the lockdown is likely to get extended in 62 districts which also amount to 80% of the positive cases in the nation.
Some states are even looking at the possibility to not come out of the lockdown at all like Punjab which is considering to extend the curfew even after the nation lockdown ends on April 14 to keep a check on the virus spread.
As per the data updates from the Health Ministry as on Monday, 9 am, many fresh deaths have been reported across the country which included the maximum from Maharashtra with 21 fatalities, two each from Tamil Nadu & Andhra Pradesh & one from Punjab. The numbers currently show Maharashtra with the highest number of deaths standing at 45, which is followed by Gujarat that stands with 11 deaths, nine fatalities have been reported from Madhya Pradesh, seven deaths each are registered in Delhi & Telangana, Tamil Nadu stands at five & Punjab reports six fatalities. Karnataka records four deaths, West Bengal reports three deaths; Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir report two fatalities each. Haryana, Bihar & Himachal Pradesh report one death each.
