Coronavirus Global Update: The US climbs to 3 lakh positive cases, Mainland China reports 30 new cases of COVID-19.

It has become even more important for nations all over the world to come together in this fight against coronavirus through taking measures that can help curb or lower the number of cases getting registered every day in almost all the nations of the world. Each day leaders from different countries discuss the precautions people can take & also talk about the steps to be taken next, including the lockdown in many parts of the world to somehow lower the cases.

However, recent updates suggest that the US saw a massive climb in the number of positive cases that jumped higher than 3 lakh, which led to deaths amounting to not less than 8,162 as per the data assembled by John Hopkins University. On the other side, Mainland China reported 30 new COVID-19 cases.

As of Sunday morning, New York has more than 113,704 confirmed cases, the death toll has reached over 3,500 statewide & around 15,000 patients are hospitalised due to Coronavirus. Knowing that India banned the export of drugs last month & looking at the current situation of the country, President Donald Trump requested help from India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release Hydroxychloroquine as the drug can be used to fight the virus. Speaking on the same on Saturday at the White House & addressing the media, Trump said that he called up Modi the PM of India in the morning to release large amounts of Hydroxychloroquine & confirmed that India is even giving it a serious consideration.

Further Trump also warned the people of his country saying that the coming two weeks can turn out to be deadly & can see a significant rise in the number of deaths. Also, the White House task force members have estimated deaths between 100,000 to 200,000 people in the US in the coming two months.

Mainland China also sees an increase of 30 fresh cases from 19 cases a day prior. Out of the newly reported cases, 25 cases are from abroad in comparison to 18 such cases a day earlier, according to the National Commission of the country. And, from the Southern province of Guangdong, at least 5 fresh cases have been reported due to local transmission.

Other countries like Australia records more than 5,500 cases & their death toll reaches 34. The United Kingdom marks a death toll of 4,313 & within 24 hours reports an increase by 708, making it the highest daily rise in deaths till now in Britain. In Sri Lanka, the number of cases rose to 166 & registered at least 25 fatalities. Looking at the increasing number of cases & to contain the virus spread, Sri Lanka even decided to release around 2,900 prisoners from their already overcrowded prisons. Spain, on the other hand, sees a decline in the number of deaths & on Sunday the country reported 674 fatalities, recording it to be the lowest in the last 10 days.
