CM Uddhav Thackeray holds a meeting with "Mahatma" Sonu Sood over migrant workers' issue.
On Sunday, Bollywood actor Sonu Sood met Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray after Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut “Mahatama” dig which alleged that the actor, who has been helping migrants reach their home safely from Mumbai has been working behind the doors with the BJP.
Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has been tirelessly working on helping the stranded
migrant workers across the country due to the nation-wide lockdown, reach
their native places. Sonu had sponsored a chartered flight which transported
177 migrant workers stuck in Kerala to Orissa. The actor chartered another
flight from Mumbai to Dehradun in Uttrakhand for over 170 migrant workers.
Sonu Sood has been aggressively helping migrants after funding buses out of
Mumbai as well as sponsoring train tickets of those migrants who could not
afford it.
Aaditya Thackeray tweets Shiv Sena’s support:
CM Uddhav Thackeray and Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray along
with MLA Aslam Shaikh had a very positive meeting with Sonu Sood at Matoshree
where they discussed more ways and means to help the actor’s cause. Aaditya Thackeray tweeted,” Better together,
stronger together to assist as many people through as many people. Good to have
met a good soul to work for the people together.” Sonu Sood expressed his
gratitude in his reply to the tweet and said,” Was a pleasure. Thank you for
all the support offered to help my migrant brothers reunite with their
families.”
Sanjay Raut tweets after the meet:
Post the meeting, Sanjay Raut made another sly dig and tweeted,” Sonu Sood finally seems to have
located the address of Maharashtra’s
Chief Minister.” People on the internet dismissed Raut's claims and have
trolled him for being such a cynical person.
Sonu also praised the state government for being grateful and encouraging his
efforts for the entire nation. Sonu also urged people to send only genuine
requests for transporting to a different state; any fake requests would
eventually hamper the real needy people.
