Cindy Crawford and her daughter Kaya Gerber surprise the crowd at the Off White event in Paris

The stars shone brightly at the Off-White Fall Winter 2022 event, with fashion and celebrities including Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, also Bella Hadid, Serena Williams, Carly Kloss, Naomi Campbell, and Joan Smalls making their way to the label.

But it was another high-profile model memories that stole the show: mother-daughter duo Cindy Crawford and Kaya Gerber rarely appear on the same catwalk.

Dressed in sleeker looks from the latest Off-White collection, designed chiefly by its late founder Virgil Ablo, the pair caught the eye on the opening day of Paris Fashion Week.

Crawford wore a tiered tulle skirt in dark pink, a cropped blazer, and a prominent football shirt. Gerber (pictured above) wore a combo of a mini pouf and a T-shirt complemented by heeled sandals (the shoe's heel features a candlestick).

Presentation on theme "Spaceship Earth," featuring a model walking across a large white box at the Palais Brongniart while a giant chandelier anchored in space. The semi-monolithic home decor offers references to 2001: A Space Odyssey.

However, the outfit is less conceptual and based more on the visual brand Ablo has created over the decade since founding his company. There are plenty of fitted, layered la Crawford dresses and tulle skirts and skirts, while the designer's signature print accompanies pointy hats and varsity jackets: quotes. Jenner wore a sparkly mini noir imprinted with the words "Little Black Dress" while two models stood on the runway with flags reading "Question Everything."

The event also boasts the launch of its "couture" line, which includes more elaborate handmade pieces.

Off-White owners LVMH and New Guards Group reportedly hope to continue Abloh's vision while growing the brand into a multi-billion dollar business. The late designer had a keen also curious aesthetic eye but was equally committed to pop culture, which helped garner the label's mass appeal through its constellation of famous friends and personalities.

Anyone following in her creative footsteps must continue to strike a balance between these zeitgeist outfits and these zeitgeist people. The brand may now be on its way with Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, and Idris Elba in attendance on Monday.
