Cincinnati Reds: Suspend Telecaster Thom Brennaman After He Articulated Anti-Gay Slur On Air.

The Cincinnati Reds have declared the suspension of a supporter after he expressed an enemy of gay slur broadcasting in real-time Wednesday. 

In-depth host Thom Brennaman could be heard saying on the Fox Sports Ohio communicate, "One of the f*g capitals of the world," before then continuing his on-air obligations. The remark was made after a business break during a doubleheader between the Reds and the Kansas City Royals in Kansas City, Missouri. 

The Reds delivered an announcement, saying that the "association is crushed by the awful, homophobic comment." During the second round of the doubleheader, Brennaman "was pulled shut off, and taking effect right now was suspended from doing Reds communicates," the association said in the announcement.

Fox Sports Ohio upheld the Reds' choice to suspend Brennaman and tweeted: "The language that Thom Brennaman utilized tonight is derisive, hostile, and not the slightest bit mirrors the estimations of FOX Sports Ohio. We concur with the @Reds choice to suspend him until further notification."
