Chrissy Teigen looks 'extremely comfortable' in $1,000 'Birkenstock-esque' Fendi sandals
"It's an exciting time," Chrissy Teigen wrote after promising her stylist she would only wear "physically comfortable" clothes in 2022.
The 36-year-old Sports Illustrated Swimsuit alum kept her promise to stylist Alana Van Deraa to only wear "physically comfortable" clothes in 2022 when she wore a pair of fuzzy "Birkenstock-esque" slippers in Instagram photos posted on Friday.
"This year, I promised @alanavanderaa that I would not wear anything unless it made me physically comfortable.
She wore Fendi's Signature Shearling Strappy Sandals, which retail for $1,050, for the impromptu shoot and joked that they're "revenge" for husband John Legend's current fashion choices.
"If you're following along on this significant journey, I currently have many a Birkenstock and Birkenstock-Esque shoe on the way, and I couldn't be more excited," she added. "John, not so much, but consider it my retaliation for his recent pants. If you see me in heels, they won't throb the bunion mom so generously passed down to me, and my fingers, or toe fingers, won't jam. Ladies and gentlemen, it's an exciting time!!!"
Teigen wore them with oversized distressed jeans and a brown blazer over a white button-up blouse. Winter also tattooed Teigen's other wrist with the name of her son Jack, whom she and Legend, 43, lost in 2020 after 20 weeks of pregnancy. He previously tattooed the parents' names and the names of their children, Luna Simone, 5, and Miles Theodore, 3.
Teigen and Legend most recently enlisted the help of Winter to have Luna's drawings immortalized on their arms, with a butterfly for mom and a bouquet for dad.
"One night, Luna was drawing on us and said, 'I love this.' 'This is the best butterfly I've ever drawn,' I said, and he agreed." Teigen revealed it on The Ellen DeGeneres Show last month.
