Chinese app banned in India: Tik Tok, UC browser among 59 Chinese apps.

The Indian government took a big step on Monday night amid rising tensions with China, which last year earned more than Rs 1,200 crore.  The government has banned 59 Chinese apps such as TikTok, UC Browser, and Shareit. The government said that the user's data and other information is being obtained through this app.  This is a threat to the sovereignty, integrity, and security of the country.  The Union Ministry of Information Technology has decided to ban the Chinese app under Section 69A of the IT Act, 2009.

The government said the information obtained through the apps was used in activities challenging India's sovereignty and integrity.  Tick-tock was also banned last year.  But the Supreme Court granted him relief.  Tik-Tok then told the court that the ban was costing him Rs 3.5 crore a day.  Means 1200 crores a year.  It had 12 crore users then. Currently, 10 million people have downloaded it.
