Chief Minister lays stone of Rs.25.67-cr Ambardi Safari Park project in Amreli

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today expressed his resolve to develop the Ambardi Safari Park near Dhari in Amreli as a must-see global tourist place to watch Asiatic lions in their natural abode in the Gir, to be equipped with world-class facilities humming with tours, travels, taxi, hotels and restaurants for tourists.

Laying the foundation stone of tourist facilities at Ambardi online through videoconferencing from here, he said it is being developed at a cost of Rs.25.67-crore as another place to watch Asiatic lions in their natural abode, on the line of the world-famous Sasan Gir Lions Sanctuary. The number of Lions in the state has increased by 29 per cent during the last five years due to relentless efforts of the state government in conservation and preservation of wildlife in the state.

Mr. Rupani said that "Gujarat Nahi Dekha To Kuchh Nahi Dekha". The Gujarat Government has developed several tourists circuits like those interested in Mahatma Gandhi's birthplace at Porbandar, studies at Rajkot, workplace in Ahmedabad and salt satyagraha at Dandi beach. Similarly, Kutch tourist circuit is for kin paying homage to deceased killed in the earthquake in 2001, Mata-na-Gadh, Narayan Sarovar, Dholavira. Pilgrims circuit for Somnath, Dwarka, Pavagadh, Ambaji, Palitana, Nadabet to see Pakistan border, Shivrajpur beach, Girnar ropeway, Uparkot fort, Junagadh, etc.

He directed the authorities to complete the Ambardi project in two years. He said it is supreme satisfaction to complete and commission projects in a time-bound manner, the foundation stone for which was performed by himself. There are leopards also in the forest and the government may develop leopard safari park in future.

Those present at Ambardi included Tourism Minister Jawaharbhai Chavda, Member of Parliament Narabbhai Kachhadia and district-level office-bearers, while Minister of State for Tourism Vasanbhai Ahir and Tourism Corporation MD Jenu Devan was present at Gandhinagar.
