Cary Fukunaga, the director, has been accused of sexual assault

Key Takeaways:

Cary Joji Fukunaga, the director of the James Bond picture No Time to Die and critically praised shows like True Detective and Maniac, has been accused of sexual assault by several female performers online.

Three women have accused the director of making unwanted sexual attempts toward them, as well as influencing and grooming them, according to reports. So far, the filmmaker has not replied to the charges.

An actor made the initial allegation last week, alleging that the director 'pressed' her into a romantic as well as sexual relationship with him. The actor said she was 18, and the director was in his late 30s when he began "pressuring her into a romantic relationship" in a series of social media messages.

They were "absolutely utterly intimate," she subsequently alleged. "I spent years being afraid of him," she posted on Instagram Stories with a selfie of herself with Cary. This guy is a groomer who has been doing this for years. "Women, beware!"

According to the actor, Cary would order her to hide them together and pretend to be his niece in front of others. "One strange thing about him was that he'd instruct me to act like I was his cousin, niece, or sister in front of other people as if he wanted me to lie about who I was," she explained.

She went on to say that they split up three years later and that she has been in counseling for the past year after being diagnosed with PTSD.

After seeing the tweet, two more performers related to each other came up with their charges. Cary directed a production in which the two actors appeared. According to the two, Cary romantically pursued both of them simultaneously for the following three years. They stated that the director even paid a visit to their home and tried to persuade them to form a trio.

"Back at home, we all slipped into the family's hot tub, where he asked if we were virgins and what our feelings were on threesomes. "When we informed him we'd never do one, he reminded us that they 'do these in pornos all the time,' and even said incest was fine 'if both sides are happy with it,'" they stated in a joint statement on Facebook.

The two actors also claimed that the director invited them to his penthouse in 2021 for the success party for No Time To Die, where he provided the drugs and attempted to have sex with both of them.

The two claimed to have ended their relationship the next day. However, the two actors stated in their statement that they did not seek a 'witch hunt' against him. Their statement stated, "We were not raped, sacked from a job, or forced to do anything bodily against our choice."

A spokesman for the filmmaker declined to comment on the latest allegations, according to The Wrap. Cary has already been accused of acting inappropriately with his actors. Last year, Cary allegedly removed actor Raeden Greer from season one of True Detective after she declined to perform topless on camera.

Cary gained notoriety after the release of his film Sin nombre in 2009. For his work on True Detective, he became the first filmmaker of Asian origin to win a Primetime Emmy Award for Exceptional Direction for a Drama Series in 2015.

No Time To Die, starring Daniel Craig, was his most recent film. The picture was a big financial success, grossing $774 million worldwide.
