Is this normal?" he asked in an Instagram post.

While many people believe that stopping their menstrual cycle during exercise is normal, it's not! "That can be a serious problem with your diet," says Kapoor.

He adds, "When your body doesn't have enough energy to keep your system running, it diverts energy away from non-essential things like reproduction and growth, including bone formation." As a result, the hypothalamus, an area of ​​the brain, releases hormones that control ovulation.

The expert listed three ways to avoid missed periods due to too much exercise.

* Not having a whole weekend can increase the chances of a missed period. "Plan a time during the week when you can rest and give yourself the grace to do nothing," she advises.
* A constant calorie deficit diet will not help your problem either. Instead, the expert said: "Focus on more nutritious foods."
* Focus more on your health than your appearance. For example, "Your menstrual cycle is missing and unhealthy - no matter what you look like."
