Bob Saget's widow have filed a lawsuit to prevent the release of death investigation records
Kelly Rizzo and Bob Saget's three daughters are suing the Orange County Sheriff's Office and the Medical Examiner's Office to keep the investigation into the comedian's death, which occurred on January 9, private.
A little more than a 30 days after the comedian's death, his family has filed a lawsuit against Orange County Sheriff John Mina also the District Nine Medical Examiner's Office.
According to court documents obtained by new, Saget's wife, Kelly Rizzo, and his three daughters, Aubrey, Lara, and Jennifer are suing officials to prevent the release of any further documents related to the 65-year-old Full House star's death.
The Saget family filed a lawsuit on Tuesday to prevent the release of additional details about his death in a Florida hotel and to keep the investigation confidential because it "would cause irreparable harm in the form of farthermost mental pain, anguish, also emotional distress."
In addition to requesting a restraining order to prevent the release of reports, audio, video recordings, and photographs, the late star's widow and daughters want the information and materials gathered about Saget's death to be exempt from public records requests.
According to his family's lawsuit, "no legitimate public interest would be served by the release or dissemination of the records to the public."
When contacted by the news, Orange County Sheriff John Mina and the District Nine Medical Examiner's Office did not directly comment on the lawsuit. The Saget family confirmed to the news last week that former America's Funniest Home Videos host died due to head trauma. On January 9, he was discovered dead in his Ritz-Carlton hotel room in Orlando.
