Billy Isle opens up about living with Tourette's Syndrome and experiencing tics. The 20-year-old Grammy winner opened up about her neurological disorder while appearing on David Letterman's Netflix talk show; My Next Guest Doesn't Need a Presentation.

"I never tickle at all because the main tics I do all day are moving my ears back and forth, raising my eyebrows and snapping my jaw, squeezing my arm here, and flexing that arm." to contract those muscles. These are things you never realize just talking to me, but it was exhausting for me," Ailish continued.

The singer added that she was diagnosed when she was just 11 years old and had "minor" tics as a child.

He explained to Letterman that "people's most common reaction is to laugh" because they thought he was trying to be "funny." "They think I [tick] like a fun move... And I'm always really offended by that..."

However, he added that the reason could be "improper brain development," which can prevent a person from "engaging or interacting with people," which usually begins in childhood.

"I love talking about it. I like answering questions because it's exciting, and I'm so confused and don't understand it," she said of her condition.

According to doctors, tics can be genetic or environmental, including motor and visual tics. Because tics are involuntary muscle spasms, they consist of sudden, periodic twitches of a muscle group. The most common forms are:

- Blink
"Muddy."
- Clears throat
- panting
