Beyoncé Reflects on the July issue of British Vogue in extraordinary style

British Vogue Editor-in-Chief Edward Ennful also talks about his work with the legendary Queen B.

On Thursday, the prestigious issue announced the Grammy winner as its July 2022 cover star after delivering the long-awaited news for his seventh studio album, Renaissance.

The photos, taken by Rafael Pavarotti, embody much of the superstar's glamorous facade, with the editorial theme of Fashion Fantasy.

On the one hand, Queen Bay wears a gold sequined coat embroidered with Swarovski crystals and Schiaparelli haute couture jewelry reminiscent of a royal musical persona; on the other, a Junya Watanabe leather jacket and beaded leather hat by Harris Reed & Roker Lorrain earrings. In white gold and black diamonds for the vision of a moto rock star.

B wanted to play with fashion like never before and as we swapped references (from '90s garage scenes to over-the-top '80s), chatted about hair and beauty and met his team, a vision for brilliant retro-futurism is taking shape," he wrote. "[On the set] there was a magical vibe, and immediately B walked away feeling light and free to be himself," he added. "Her husband and children came to surprise her on set. It was a family day – albeit a little surreal," said Jay-Z and their three children, Blue Ivy, 10, and twins Rumi and Herr, 5.

Along with his style, he detailed the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to review his upcoming album, the highly anticipated Renaissance album, due out July 29. "Creating is a long process," he explained, adding that the pandemic gave him more time to think and reconsider every decision. "As he likes," he wrote.
