Before FKA Twigs became the face of this fragrance, she sold it in department stores
FKA Twigs recalls that before starting his career, he sold Viktor & Rolf perfume in a department store
The 34-year-old British singer-songwriter recently teamed up with Dutch fashion brand Viktor & Rolf to become the face of their new perfume, 'Good Fortune.' Twigs, whose real name is Talia Debret Barnett, told InStyle that she had sold Flowerbomb, another Viktor & Rolf fragrance, to retailers in the UK before becoming famous.
"Years ago, I worked in a department store and [selling] Flowerbombs," Twigs told the publication. "I've always found interest in brands."
"Everything in life is meant to be, and you seem to follow the signs and do your best with what is thrown at you," he added of the partnership. Victor and Rolf's health is "enhanced by a luxurious jasmine center filled with soft and charming vanilla bourbon," according to the brand's website. Twigs told InStyle that the scent of jasmine is his favorite, calling it "a beautiful floral kiss."
The Grammy-nominated artist added that the vanilla scent reminded her of "breast milk," adding, "Natural vanilla is a very omniscient note. There's something very healthy about her." The killer singer told InStyle that he sees wearing perfume as "almost part of the ritual."
"It's about controlling your world, but from the inside out," he said. "Control the world within you and how it can permeate our daily lives."
Talking about the partnership with Viktor & Rolf, Twigs said the brand "just feels like a world I can easily enter." Twigs is also open to partnering with the brand to launch fragrances, including a feature film directed by Andrew Thomas Huang. He plays a "hypnotic fortune teller," according to InStyle.
"When something is authentic and feels real, people will connect with it, whether it's one person or hundreds of millions.
