Attacks on 2 towns in Niger kill at least 100 people
NIAMEY: Islamic fanatics organized assaults on two towns in Niger close to its boundary with Mali, killing at any rate 100 individuals, Niger's executive said on Sunday.
PM Brigi Rafini headed out to the two towns of Tchombangou and Zaroumdareye a day after the assault.
"We came to offer good help and present the sympathies of the leader of the republic, the public authority and the whole Niger country," he said.
The towns in the shaky Tillaberi area were assaulted on Saturday after local people killed two contenders, nearby authorities stated, occurring the exact day as the West African country's appointive bonus declared that official races would head a second round.
