Anderson Cooper celebrates Father's Day with Son as he contemplates losing his father as a child.
"Father's Day was a day I avoided most of my life," Anderson Cooper told his followers.
The 55-year-old CNN presenter enjoyed the special with his sons Wyatt Morgan, 2-month-old and 3-month-old Sebastian Luke, and shared adorable photos from the celebration on Instagram.
When he uploaded a photo of his son Wyatt on his shoulder eating ice cream, the TV showed a less positive side of Father's Day.
His father, Wyatt Cooper, died of heart surgery when Anderson was a child.
"For most of my whole life, Father's Day was a day I avoided, either by pretending it didn't exist or by forgetting what day it was. The pain of remembering it was too great," Cooper began. "Losing my father, who died when I was ten, was painful and sometimes still is.
She ended her caption by explaining that this year is different now that she shares two sons with her parenting partner Benjamin Maisani.
"But today, I celebrate Father's Day and remember my dad Wyatt with little Wyatt and Sebastian and their dad Benjamin. "I can't believe how lucky I am," he added. Host Anderson Cooper 360 first revealed that he welcomed Sebastian to his show last month. February shared a photo of Wyatt, saying: "If he looks so happy in this photo, it's because he already has one brother."
"His name is Sebastian, and I want you to meet him," Cooper continued, introducing his adorable new son to the world.
"This is Sebastian Luke Maisani-Cooper. He weighed 6.8 pounds at birth and is healthy and happy, and even the occasional hiccup blows me away." "He mostly just sleeps and eats and poops, but now he looks like a wise and thoughtful little man."
