Amit Shah meets CM Arvind Kejriwal & Delhi LG over the Covid-19 situation.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah  has chaired a meeting with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, and Lieutenant Governor Anil Baija l through video conference. The meeting is centered on the Covid-19 situation in he national capital. 

Delhi recorded over 3600 cases in the last 24 hours - the biggest single-day surge in the number of cases, with tally rising over 56,0000 cases with the death toll at 2112, reported news agency ANI. Dr Harsh Vardhan, the Union Health Minister, and Health Secretary Priti Sudan were the other big names attending the home minister’s meeting. Amit Shah is discussing various strategies to fight against the virus in the national capital region.


India’s Covid-19 tally crosses 4.10 Lakhs: In the last 24 hours,  India  reported fresh 15,413 Covid-19 infections, its biggest single-day surge, taking the country’s coronavirus tally over 4.10 lakh. The country also reported over 306 deaths which raised the death toll in the nation to 13,254 as per the Union Health Ministry’s data. A total of 227,755 patients have successfully recovered from the fatal virus and the tally of currently active Covid-19 infections in the nation is 169,451. This meant that the recovery rate of India has increased to around 55.55 percent.

Tamil Nadu registered 2532 new coronavirus infections which took the state’s tally to 59,377, which is the second-highest state tally in India. The worst affected Indian state, Maharashtra on Sunday reported over 3874 new cases with 160 deaths taking the state’s tally to over 128,000 and the death toll stood at 5900.

Globally, over 8.8 million people have been affected due to the virus with more than 465,000 people dying of it.
