America's F-16 fighter planes help Pakistan with $450 million
Singing the songs of not promoting terrorism, America has once again decided to openly help Pakistan financially. This time America has declared F-16 package to Pakistan ignoring India's protest. No one raised objections during the US Senate's mandatory 30-day notice period, paving the way for this beneficial deal for Pakistan.
On September 7, the State Department notified the US Parliament on behalf of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that the Biden government was committed to a defense deal with Pakistan under the Foreign Military Sales Program. Regarding this, Senator Robert Mendez, Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said in Parliament on September 13 that now the American Parliament has 30 days, during which they can review this deal.
The fact is that the Biden administration reversed former President Trump's decision not to provide security assistance to Pakistan. Not only that, the US Parliament had 30 days to review the deal, during which none of the 100 senators objected. With this, the US has paved the way for a package of 450 million dollars to Pakistan.
Questions have also been raised against this decision of the Government of India. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, during his visit to America last month, said that no country has benefited from America's relations with Pakistan. We oppose the $450 million package for F-16 aircraft. Meanwhile, the Biden administration has argued that Pakistan's F-16 program is an important part of our security agreement with Pakistan.
If Pakistan can maintain its fleet of F-16 aircraft, its current and future ability to fight terrorism will be preserved.
On the other hand, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also called American Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and expressed concern over America's decision to help Pakistan. Singh gave this information on social media on September 14. However, the US said that the fleet of F-16 aircraft will help Pakistan fight terrorism and the US wants Pakistan to take strict action against all terrorist organisations.
Recently, Biden called Pakistan the most dangerous country
Just last week, tension arose between America and Pakistan. Biden said that Pakistan is the most dangerous country in the world because Pakistan has political instability and also has nuclear weapons. After this statement, Pakistan summoned the US ambassador in Islamabad. America also reaped. The ambassador was summoned.
America gave F-16 to Pakistan in 1981 during the Cold War
In 1981, when the Cold War was going on between the US and the Soviet Union, Pakistan received the F-16 aircraft from the US for the first time. These aircraft increased the capability of the Pakistan Air Force manifold and added some threat to India. However, India-Pakistan engaged in aerial combat only once in the last two decades, in February 2019. At that time, the Indian Air Force faced the MiG-21 Bison with Pakistan's F-16s.
