Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is engaged; Here's everything you need to know about her partner Riley Roberts

The engagement took place last month in the American activist's hometown of Puerto Rico.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) received congratulations after the news of their engagement became official. The American politician and activist are engaged to his partner Riley Roberts. Reporter Pablo Manriquez broke the news on Twitter, writing: "LISTEN: @AOC engaged.

Ocasio-Cortez exclusively told Insider that the couple got engaged in Puerto Rico last month and "took some space to enjoy the feeling" before starting preparations for the wedding.  No details on the future yet; we are dedicating a little space to enjoy this time before we get into the planning," he said in a statement.

Interestingly, they kept their relationship secret even before Ocasio-Cortez became a powerful voice for progressive politics in the United States. Even his friends from the university found out about their relationship much later.

However, they even appeared together at the Met Gala in 2021, where Ocasio-Cortez wore the famous white open-shoulder gown by Brother Vellies founder Aurora James, with "Tax the Rich" written in red the back.
