The film, which also discusses alleged exploits, "is not a story I agree to tell," he added. Director Jagged has not yet responded to the singer's comments. In her statement, Morissette stated that she was suffering from postpartum depression at the time.

"I agreed to be part of the story about Jagged Little Pill's 25th anniversary and was interviewed at a very vulnerable point in time (when he was in the midst of my third postpartum depression during lockdown)," the 47-year-old said. Said in a statement.

"I was put to bed with a false sense of security, and their threatening programming becomes clear from the first cut of the film. It was then that I realized that our views were indeed very different. "That's not a story I agree to tell," he continued.

"Now I'm sitting here feeling the full effect of trusting someone I don't trust."

The Canadian star confirmed that he had chosen not to attend any promotional events related to the film, partly because he was on tour and partly because he believed the film "contains untrue consequences and facts."

"While there is certainly beauty and some element of accuracy in this/my story - at the end of the day, I won't endorse someone else's reductive approach to a story that is too nuanced to understand or tell."

On Tuesday, before the new statement came out, film director Alison Kleiman told the Washington Post that it was a "privilege" to make the film and that she was "very proud of it." "Hopefully, there will be another opportunity for them to come to film events in the future," he said.

Canada's legal age to grant permission is 16, even though Morrisette was 14 when she was a teenager. However, the law states that even if both parties have passed the formal age limit, an examination must still be carried out to determine whether it was an abuse of power or trust. "It took years of therapy to admit that there was some victimization on my part," Morissette says in the film.

"I always say I agree, and then I'm reminded, 'Hey, you're 15, you don't agree.' So now I'm thinking, "Oh yeah, they're all pedophiles. It's all legal rape." "I told several people and thought it was deaf," he said. "It usually takes a while to get up and leave the room."
