Air India Express, there will be no Covid PCR test for vaccinated passengers traveling
The new relaxation comes after removing the mandatory seven-day home quarantine for passengers arriving in India from abroad.
According to an Air India Express travel update, passengers who have received both doses of Covid-19 vaccination in India are exempt from taking RT-PCR tests before departing from the UAE.
In its new guideline for passengers flying from the UAE to India, the airline noted that the exemption is only for those who have "completed the full vaccination schedule of both doses in India."
The new travel update will primarily benefit visitors to the UAE who received Covid-19 vaccines in India. The recent relaxation comes on the heels of removing the seven-day mandatory home quarantine for passengers arriving in India from abroad.
Passengers who have received the Covid-19 vaccine in the UAE, which includes most of the country's residents, must still undergo a PCR test 72 hours before flying from the UAE to India.
"All other passengers should have a negative Covid-19 RT-PCR certificate with them and upload it to the Air Suvidha portal." The test should have been accomplished within 72 hours of the scheduled departure time."
