After eight years, Pete Davidson says goodbye to Saturday Night Live: SNL is my home

"I owe my life to Lorne Michaels and everyone at SNL. I'm so grateful, and without him, I wouldn't be here," said Pete Davidson towards the end of season 47.

 as Saturday Night Live wrapped up another season of the long-running comedy show Saturday With a Skit as well. He said goodbye to the members starring Pete Davidson.

Already 28 years old, Davidson came to SNL from the show during the show's Season 40 premiere in September 2014 as a member of the main cast.

Saturday night's episode featured Russian puppet star Natasha Lyon as the host with musical guest Japanese Breakfast. It also marks the recent appearances of Kate McKinnon, Eddie Bryant, and Kyle Mooney as repertoire players.

Davidson appeared in the weekend update segment to talk about his tenure at the late-night show even making sure the names Kanye West, Ariana Grande, and Dan Crenshaw were released.

Hours before the end of the season, Davidson confirmed his release from the NBC series in an Instagram post shared by friend and regular collaborator Dave Sears: "From Pete: This video was filmed eight years ago.
