A New York man  found guilty of sexually, psychologically and emotionally manipulating his daughter's classmates at Sarah Lawrence College was sentenced to 60 years in prison on Friday. A Manhattan federal court judge, Lewis J. Liman, said  Lawrence Ray's behavior was "particularly egregious." Ray, 63, was convicted in court in 2022 of  racketeering, conspiracy, forced labor and sex trafficking. and prosecutors who said  these students were manipulated during their sophomore year at the university.

Ray reportedly started "therapy" sessions with some of his daughter's friends, saying it would help them cope with their mental health issues

Attorneys for victim Santos Rosario said  the court ruling reflected the "immeasurable damage" Ray caused college students. "Santos is a strong and talented young man with a bright future and now a clearer path to achieve it." "This result, the passage of time and the support of family, friends and the community will help him and the other victims to overcome the tremendous trauma that Mr. Ray has inflicted," they said in an emailed statement.

As the father figure of students, Ray learned every detail about the students' personal lives, vulnerabilities, and mental health issues under the pretense of helping them during  sessions, one allegation.
