Marin will "miss her friends, family, and fans," she said in a statement on social media. "There will never be another voice or another ghost-like Carlos."
The group said they were begging for Marin's recovery after being hospitalized this month and urged her to postpone her Christmas UK tour.
The men's quartet was put together by Simon Cowell in 2003 and achieved three number one albums in the UK.
Marin was born in Germany but transferred to Spain at 12 and became a baritone in a band performing with tenors Urs Bühler and David Miller and pop singer Sebastian Izambard.
"Singing is my way of saying how I feel, my way of living," he was quoted as saying on the band's website.
"Singing is what touch me feel alive, so thank you for allowing me to continue living what I love."
Spanish newspaper El Pais reported that Marin fell ill while on tour in England and fell into an artificial coma in a Manchester hospital. The nature of the disease was not disclosed.

Il Divo's international makeup has given them notable success on several world tours.
Her hits include Regresa a Mi (Unbreak My Heart), The Time Of Our Lives, and I Believe In You a duet with Celine Dion like well as a version of Hello by Adele.
According to the group's website, they have sold over 30 million records and have 160 gold and platinum records in over 33 countries.
