Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, HRD Minister second live interaction on Tuesday through social media platforms.
The upcoming academic session for schools will see a reduced syllabus for students as the HRD Ministers feels that this had to be considered looking at the pressure for studies on students & also the academic time they already have lost.
Talking on the same, he even advised parents to stop pressurising their kids to & be with them to help them get through the crisis situation in the country. He also recommended all students to make full use of & study through the various educational digital platforms during this lockdown.
Nishank said that "Diksha portal has content for different exams & in different languages. It has an interactive curriculum. Students should use e-content, especially under lockdown. The national repository from open universities is also available at the portal."
Manish Sisodia, Delhi Education Minister, had raised this issue initially to the HRD during a meeting at the start of this week, suggesting to reduce the syllabus even for entrance exams, which includes JEE MAIN & NEET.
The HRD Minister also conveyed a message to students coming from rural areas who may face network connectivity issues. For them, Nishank said that they are working towards the problem & are putting efforts to reach them better. They will be providing courses from
both schools & colleges on a digital platform called "SWAYAM Portal" as well as a DTH & Television initiative called "SWAYAM PRABHA" telecasting educational content on DD channel & other platforms like Airtel TV, Tata Sky, etc.
The new academic sessions this year would be commencing from September & not from July like every year. However, the examinations for the current sessions would be held in July.
Also, it was informed during the interaction by Nishank that the decision on the exam dates of CBSE, class 10th & 12th would also be taken within two days.
