of the deadly virus. The last day of the third phase of lockdown in India saw
it's the biggest single-day rise in cases of Covid-19 virus, reporting 5,242
new infections and 154 deaths. This takes the total number of cases to 96,169 and
around 3,029 deaths, as the mortality rate touched 3.2%. The number of patients
who recovered from this fatal virus rose to 36,824, according to the statement
issued by the Union Health Ministry.
On Sunday, the Home Affairs Ministry announced the extension of lockdown till 31st May, giving states and UTs the power to delineate guidelines of Lockdown 4.0 in containment, red, orange and green zones. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has permitted inter-state movement of buses, passenger vehicles with mutual consent of states. All the states will release their guidelines in a day or two.

It is predicted that many green and orange zones will be fully opened and some restrictions will be lifted even in the red zones. Only essential activities will be allowed in containment zones.
Maharashtra reported 2,347
fresh cases in the last 24 hours registering it's highest single-day cases as
the state crossed 33,000 total infected patients. The Health Ministry also
highlighted the recovery rate of India, which rose to 38.29 %.
Global cases crossed 4.71
Million as over 315000 people have succumbed to Coronavirus.
