According to Italian News Agency ANSA's report, the tests conducted at Rome's infectious-disease Spallanzi Hospital resulted in developing a vaccine that can neutralize the novel COVID-19 virus in human cells. Italian Medical firm 'Takis' claims that the vaccine, developed by them, generated antibodies in mice that can also work on human cells. 

From the Italian medical firm a team of scientists conducted tests on mice and observed the development of antibodies in them after a single vaccination that shields the human cells from coronavirus, ANSA reported. The CEO of 'Takis' Luigi Aurisicchio told ANSA, "According to Spallanzani Hospital, as far as we know we are the first in the world so far to have demonstrated neutralization of the coronavirus by a vaccine. We expect this to happen in humans too." Researchers selected the best two candidate vaccines out of five that generated the highest number of antibodies. All of the candidate vaccines presently being developed are based on "spike"- the material genetic of DNA protein. These are then injected with "electroporation" technique, which comprises of an intramuscular injection along with a brief electrical impulse, facilitating the vaccine to enter the cells. Researchers believe that this enhances the vaccine to generate antibodies in the most vulnerable cells to coronavirus, i.e. Lung cells.

"The antibodies are able to prevent the infection and the T cells eliminate the virus that has already entered the organism" said another Italian company ReiThera to ANSA, it further stated that its COVID-19 vaccine showed "strong immune response" to animals.

The total cases have crossed around 3.7 Million and close to 258,962 people have lost their lives, worldwide since the outbreak of the virus in China, in December.
