This Friday, Brazilian singer Anita made her Coachella debut, becoming the first solo artist in the country.

"Hello, world, welcome to Brazil. " Anita wrote on Instagram after Saturday's event; this is my country. 

Anita, 29, kicked off the show by riding a motorbike to welcome her first special guest, Snoop Dogg. The two, who have been close friends since releasing the song "Onda Diferente" in 2019, brought their hit together to launch the show. At one point, Anita even encouraged Snoop to flirt with her—she tried, but it didn't last long. "I love you so much, @snoopdogg. I have so much respect and gratitude. No words can describe it," he continued in his Instagram post. "Forever grateful."

From her background to changing clothes a lot, Anita exudes Brazilian energy and culture. For his first appearance, he wore a green, yellow and blue two-piece suit with yellow boots and sunglasses (all colors of the Brazilian flag).

As for the scenery, the backdrop mimics the facades of houses in Brazil's slums known as favelas. According to the singer's release "Evolver," his team members, Joe Rode and Clay Tarsitano made "favelas on stage" possible. The décor makes onlookers feel like they're in a favela from loose ropes to clotheslines. Later on, in the show, Anita performed her 2022 hit "Faking Love" with a brief cameo from Saweetie.

In Anita's post, she thanked the rapper for visiting: "You are so special, amazing, flawless, everyone, I love you, and I'm so glad you came to sing with me yesterday." Then, Anita turned into herself. In the second performance (a colorful jumpsuit with zebra print), the dancers continued to dance in sync with the "Rhythm of the Night."

In social media posts, videos now show dancers singing "Fora Bolsonaro" (Get Out Bolsonaro), something very vocal about the "Boys Don't Cry" singers of the past.

When she returned, Anitta performed her global hit Envolver, her first solo, and joined a dancer for a slightly intimate choreography.
